George Hanley

ABOUT

George Hanley has extensive experience founding and building successful companies in the financial and commercial real estate industries. George is a graduate of University of Dayton, serves on the Board of Trustees for University of Dayton, Dean’s Committee for University of Miami and is President of the George P. Hanley Foundation.

Over the years, George has been involved with several successful businesses, including:


  • In 1985, George founded Hanley Group Capital, which grew to trade commodity, currencies, fixed income and equity markets across the globe, along with becoming the largest volume trader of agricultural option products in the world for over 20 years. He sold HGC to StoneX in 2010

  • In 1999 he cofounded Blink Trading, one of the first companies to trade electronically across exchanges in Europe and the U.S. Hanley sold Blink to Getco (GETCO) in 2002

  • In 2001 he cofounded Infinium Capital Management (ICM). He served as Chairman and helped grow the firm into one of the largest-volume electronic market making firms in the world. He stepped down from their Board in 2009 and sold his interest in ICM in 2012

  • From 2010 to 2013 George served as CEO of INTL-Hanley Group, where he ran global trading for the firm

  • In 2014 he became a principal at R2 Companies, a large commercial real estate firm in Chicago focused on renovating old factory and warehouse space into modern office spaces. George serves on the investment committee of R2’s Yield Fund and their R2 Flagship Fund

  • In 2019 he cofounded Left Bank Capital which specializes in Opportunity Zone multi-family projects across the US with the main focus in Nashville, Tennessee

  • In 2020 he joined the board of Utopia Distribution / Altavod Movie Studio, a cutting-edge content streaming, production and movie-rights company

  • In 2021, founded Normandy Island LLC focused on multi-family investments in the Miami Florida area


George’s primary focus is his role as Principal of Normandy Island, LLC (Miami, FL) Left Bank Capital (Nashville, TN) and R2 Companies (Chicago, IL).
